I picked up My Friend, the Starfinder because of Stephen Gammell’s illustrations. He is the Caldecott Award winning illustrator of Song and Dance Man, The Relatives Came, and Old Black Fly. In his newest work, we meet a little girl and her neighbor, the starfinder.  He tells her about the time as a young boy when he followed a falling star. The illustrations go back and forth from color to black-and-white adding to the beauty of the tale.
