DETOUR

John played his detour card yesterday. This was good for a couple of reasons. First, it required us to spend the night in Plymouth, MA where we were able to mark Plymouth Rock off as another Roadside America stop.

We woke up early the next day (for us) and headed out of Plymouth to Hyannis, MA where we caught the high speed ferry for a day on Nantucket Island. Little did Donna realize that the ferry was being driven by her friend’s husband! They disembarked after a quick trip and spent some time exploring this quaint little island.

After wandering around a bit and enjoying lunch (and almost getting caught up on our journal) we visited the Nantucket Whaling Museum where we heard an animated presentation about whaling. We enjoyed this stop much more than we expected!

As we boarded the ferry to return to Hyannis and continue on our adventure, we both agreed that it was yet another detour card well played.
