Every Road Trip Needs to Visit the “Literary Capital of Alabama”

John and Donna decided it was worth a trip on side roads to visit Monroeville, Alabama, the childhood home of both Harper Lee and Truman Capote. How could they pass up a place dubbed as “The Literary Capital of Alabama?”  When they arrived they felt as though they had stepped into Harper Lee’s iconic novel. One highlight was visiting the courtroom that served as the model for the To Kill a Mockingbird movie. As they stood there, it seemed as though Atticus Finch would walk in at any moment. Another favorite was the memorial to Atticus Finch. There was also an exhibit to Monroeville’s other famous author – Truman Capote. Monroeville was definitely a worthwhile stop.
